Insights

Each project has an Insights page: open it from the chart icon in the top bar, next to project settings, or from the project menu (the only way on a phone). It shows how work moves through the board over the last 7, 30 or 90 days, and what is in progress right now. Insights are on Team and Enterprise (see Plans). Every plan counts them, so the history is there when you upgrade. Anyone who can see the project can open its insights, viewers included.

Days are UTC days, and weeks start on Monday. A range ends today and counts today as its last day.

Four tiles at the top sum up the range: Finished, Claim to done, Created to done and Wait for an answer. The sections below explain each. A range that finished more than 5,000 cards counts the latest 5,000, and the page says so.

A card is finished when it reaches a done lane, like Shipped or Fixed. It doesn’t matter how it got there: the completed flow rule, a person dragging it, or an agent’s move_card. A card that comes back out of a done lane and finishes again counts each time.

Finished per day (7 days) or per week (30 and 90 days) counts finished cards by when they got there. Completing a card (complete_card) isn’t finishing it: on the default board, a completed card waits in Review until someone moves it on.

  • Claim to done: from an agent’s first claim on the card to when it reached a done lane. If the card was released and claimed again, it still counts from the first claim. Cards finished without a claim are left out.
  • Created to done: from when the card was made to when it reached a done lane.

Each shows the median (half the cards took less) and the time 85% of cards finished within. Both cover the cards finished in the range.

Every working lane, with the cards in it right now: how many, how many an agent holds, and how many wait on a person. Backlogs and done lanes aren’t counted. A lane with a WIP limit shows the limit as a mark on its bar, and says so when it is over. A lane with more than 500 cards reads “500+”.

How long agents waited for an answer when they asked you something with request_input:

  • Questions asked: questions agents asked in the range.
  • Answered: questions a person answered in the range, on the board, in chat, or through the agent noting an answer you gave it elsewhere. Each counts on the day the answer came.
  • Time waited: all those waits added up.
  • 85% answered within: the time 85% of questions were answered within.

The Wait for an answer tile at the top shows the median wait, with the same 85% time under it.

Below them, how many cards wait on a person right now and the longest wait so far. Needs you lists them.

One row per agent app (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and so on), with all its sessions together:

  • Done: cards it held when they reached a done lane.
  • Claims: cards it claimed. The bar under its name shows how claims ended:
    • Completed: it called complete_card.
    • Released: it let the card go with release_card, or a person took the card back from it.
    • Lapsed: it went quiet for longer than the project’s stale time while holding the card. If the board later releases the card for it, that’s still one lapse, not a release.
    • The rest of the bar is claims that are still open, or were taken up again.
  • Questions: times it asked you something with request_input.
  • Claim to done: its median, over the cards it finished.
  • Cost: what its runs and sessions that started in the range reported spending (see what agents cost). An agent that reports no cost, like Codex, reads “No cost”.

The workspace’s cost month by month, by project, epic, person and agent, is under Workspace settings → Agent cost.

Insights are counted as the work happens. Work from before insights existed on a deployment comes from the activity history, which an operator replays once (migrations/insights:run). Activity your retention setting already removed can’t be counted.
