This Cookie Policy explains how Yokka ("Company," "we," "us," and "our") uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our website at https://yokka.ai and use the Yokka web application ("Website"). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
In some cases we may use cookies to collect personal information, or that becomes personal information if we combine it with other information.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Yokka) are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies." Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g., advertising, interactive content, and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.
Websites can also keep information in your browser's local storage and session storage. These work much like cookies, and this policy covers them too.
Why do we use cookies?
We only use cookies and similar technologies that are required for technical reasons in order for our Website to operate, and we refer to these as "essential" or "strictly necessary" cookies: they keep you signed in, protect sign-ins, and remember the preferences you set. We do not use cookies or other browser storage for analytics or advertising, and no third party serves cookies through our Website for those purposes. Our analytics and error monitoring work without them (see "Analytics" and "Error monitoring" below).
How can I control cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, we do not ask for your consent and do not show a cookie banner; essential cookies cannot be rejected as they are strictly necessary to provide you with services. You can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies and to clear local storage. If you choose to reject cookies or clear storage, you may still visit our website, though you may not be able to sign in or stay signed in, and your preferences will be forgotten.
The specific types of cookies and similar technologies served through our Website and the purposes they perform are described in the table below:
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__Host-{provider}RedirectTo, __Host-{provider}OAuthstate, __Host-{provider}OAuthpkce, __Host-{provider}OAuthnonce | Cookie | Convex Auth (our sign-in server) | Protects a sign-in with GitHub or single sign-on against forgery and returns you to the right page afterwards. | 15 minutes, or when the sign-in completes |
__convexAuthJWT_*, __convexAuthRefreshToken_*, __convexAuthOAuthVerifier_*, __convexAuthServerStateFetchTime_* | Local storage | Convex Auth | Keeps you signed in. | Until you sign out |
yk-theme | Local storage | Us | Remembers your light, dark or system theme. | Until you clear it |
yk-notify | Local storage | Us | Remembers whether you turned on desktop notifications. | Until you clear it |
yk-connect-client | Local storage | Us | Remembers which agent client you picked when connecting. | Until you clear it |
yk-currency | Local storage | Us | Remembers whether you chose to see prices in US dollars or euros. | Until you clear it |
swimlane-collapsed:* | Local storage | Us | Remembers which swimlanes of a board you collapsed. | Until you clear it |
backlogs-folded | Local storage | Us | Remembers which backlog lanes of a board you folded. | Until you clear it |
lanes-expanded | Local storage | Us | Remembers which long lanes of a board you expanded to show every card. | Until you clear it |
lane-sorts | Local storage | Us | Remembers how you sorted the cards in each lane of a board. | Until you clear it |
yk-lane-width | Local storage | Us | Remembers how wide you like the board's lanes. | Until you clear it |
yk-connect-nudge:* | Local storage | Us | Remembers that you closed the board's reminder to connect an agent, per workspace. | Until you clear it |
yk-plan-banner:* | Local storage | Us | Remembers that you closed the reminder about your trial ending (for the day) or ended, per workspace. | Until you clear it |
yk-start | Local storage | Us | Remembers how Start opens cards on this device, and where each project's folder is on this computer. The folders never leave your browser. | Until you clear it |
yk-push-endpoint | Local storage | Us | Remembers that this browser gets push notifications, so you aren't notified twice. | Until you turn notifications off on this device |
yk-last-sandbox | Local storage | Us | Remembers the address and end time of the try-now board you last opened, so we can tell you when it has expired. | When you open a workspace of your own, or a week after the board expired |
yk-onboarding-token:* | Session storage | Us | Keeps a new workspace's first access token on screen if you reload during setup. | When you close the tab |
yk-invite-token | Session storage | Us | Holds the invitation you opened while you sign in, so the link's secret stays out of the address bar. | When you accept it or close the tab |
yk-sandbox-claim | Session storage | Us | Lets a try-now board move into the account you sign in with, while you sign in. | When you're signed in or close the tab |
Analytics
We measure how the web app is used, such as which pages are opened and which buttons are clicked, with PostHog. We have set it up so that it stores nothing on your device: no cookies, no local storage and no session storage, which is why it is not in the table above. As a result it cannot recognize you from one visit to the next unless you are signed in. It sends no data at all if your browser has Do Not Track turned on. What is collected and why is explained under "Product analytics" in our Privacy Policy.
Error monitoring
When something goes wrong in the web app, it sends an error report to Sentry so we can fix the problem. Like our analytics, it stores nothing on your device (no cookies, no local storage and no session storage) and does not record your screen. What a report contains is explained under "Error reports" in our Privacy Policy.
Push notifications
If you turn on notifications on a device, your browser installs a small script from our Website (a "service worker") that shows the notifications we send. It only shows notifications: it does not store pages or data for offline use. Turning notifications off, or clearing the site's data in your browser, removes the subscription.
Payments
When you subscribe or manage your subscription, you are sent to checkout and billing pages hosted by our payment provider, Stripe. Stripe sets its own cookies on those pages to process your payment and prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's cookie policy, not this one.
How can I control cookies on my browser?
As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser to browser, you should visit your browser's help menu for more information.
What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?
Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors to a website. Other technologies, like web beacons (sometimes called "tracking pixels" or "clear gifs"), are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enables a website to recognize when someone has visited it or opened an email including them. We do not use web beacons or tracking pixels on our Website or in our emails. The usage events and error reports described above are sent directly by the web app and do not use either.
Do you serve targeted advertising?
No. We do not show advertising on our Website, and we do not allow third parties to serve cookies on your computer or mobile device to serve advertising through our Website.
How often will you update this Cookie Policy?
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please therefore revisit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies. If we ever start using cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first.
The date at the top of this Cookie Policy indicates when it was last updated.
Where can I get further information?
If you have any questions about our use of cookies or other technologies, please email us at support@yokka.ai. More about how we handle personal data is in our Privacy Policy.
